Boat Plans Packages Refund Policy:

We offer a 100% money-back guarantee (on the cost of the original DIY package, but not including shipping or handling) to anyone who has built and operated the boat specified by the DIY materials, and is dissatisfied with the boat for any reason. This guarantee is subject to the following conditions: you can only request a refund for a boat you have actually built and operated; for instance, if you purchased a $995 DIY “Splash” package from us (which has an included set of plans for one of our smaller boats), but only built and operated a smaller boat such as a “Proaskimmer”, you only qualify for a refund of $99.95, which is the “Proaskimmer” manual cost.

If you have not built any boat whatsoever, you do NOT qualify for any refund under this guarantee. If you do qualify for a refund, as part of the refund arrangement, you must return the manuals and all printed materials; they are not then yours to resell or give to anyone else.

If you have altered or changed the design of the boat from the included CAD drawings that come with the DIY package, or if you have changed the boat’s rigging and operational parameters in any way from those detailed in the technical manuals, then this guarantee is no longer valid.

We cannot guarantee proper operation of any of our boat designs if changes have been made, no matter how “good” the reason. Ford doesn’t guarantee Chevrolets; that would be silly now, wouldn’t it?

Boatshop Internship Credit or Exchange Policy:

Refunds of deposits or of a portion of the total payment for Boatshop Internships are offered according to the following guidlines:

1. If you cancel MORE than one month before the scheduled beginning of your internship, we will refund you 50% (half) of the 50% internship deposit. The other half we will retain for the administrative and general nuisance costs associated with the registration and subsequent cancellation.

2. If you cancel a MINIMUM of two weeks before the scheduled beginning of your internship, we will refund you 50% of the total internship fee, and ship you the printed training materials and the downloaded electronic files that are included as part of the boatshop internship you registered for.

Here’s why we don’t refund the entire deposit or the entire fee: when you register, we absolutely reserve your spot in that internship period, and turn away others who are interested. Imagine how you would feel if the situation was reversed, and we cancelled an internship with no notice to you!

Because it takes a serious comittment of both time and organization of one’s life to attend one of these internships, we don’t have a waiting list of interns that can just “jump in” at a moment’s notice and fill your spot if you cancel. When we get a cancellation, we’re operating with one less in the boatshop crew, and have lost the possibility of the income your internship would have generated.
